2022 Competitions
Barnstaple Croquet Club each year play in the South West Federation League against other teams in Cornwall and Devon. We also organise competitions at Barnstaple for Members which are all played in a friendly, but competitive way and enjoyed by everyone, whatever the result.
2022 S/W League Results
We again entered a team in the S/W League and we managed to win two, lost two by 2 games and lost the third by rather more.
This is one of the teams who represented our club in one of the league games. The team played at Exeter a hard fought series of games but eventually lost the match 11-9.
2022 Friendly Matches
We have also played friendly matches against Wootton Courtney and Bude with success. Bude kindly asked us to go down and play in the Winter months which we all much enjoyed despite having to wrap up warm against the sea breeze. It also gave newer Members a chance to play in a match. In the Summer their lawns really took a hammering in the drought and we all found it challenging to win our games.
The Devon W.I.
The Devon W.I. sent 22 players over for a day. In the morning they received tuition, followed by a competition amongst themselves, with a slap up tea after prize giving to end their day. The weather, unfortunately, was not favorable for a second day later in the month and had to be cancelled. This is our fund raising event and always seems to be much enjoyed by the W.I. Members and we are always hopeful of attracting some new Members.
2022 Club Competitions
The following photographs show the winners and runners up in the competitions held at Barnstaple croquet club this season.. The standard of play was very good and a different person won every competition. Congratulations to all the winners and those that took part.
